New comedy The President stole my Girlfriend, featuring Russell Brand, is ready to be produced.

Funnyman Russell Brand is set to produce and star in a new comedy, The President Stole My Girlfriend a comedy project Warner Bros. has just picked up from writer Matt Portenoy. Matt recently worked on a draft of the Porky’s remake and contributed a piece to the Farrelly brothers’ 2012 release Movie 43.

Russell Brand, 36, shared some details for the upcoming comedy where he stars and takes the role of a producer as well:

“In this movie, the president steals the girlfriend of a sexy hippie, me, obviously. It was inspired by the night I naively invited [Warner Bros. president] Jeff Robinov for dinner.”- the comedian told The Hollywood Reporter.

The President Stole My Girlfriend will be the first film from Branded Films a new production company launched by Russell Brand this summer. Katy Perry‘s hubby was last seen in the box office disappointment Arthur alongside Helen Mirren and Jennifer Garner.

He’ll next be seen in Adam Shankman‘s Rock of Ages as Lonnie alongside Julianne Hough, Hollywood legend Tom Cruise and Bryan Cranston when it comes to cinemas on June 29.
