2012 Golden Globe nominations announced

The Hollywood stars gather to announce the 2012 Golden Globe nominations.

The nominations for the 2012 Golden Globe have been announced. Gerard Butler, Woody Harrelson, Rashida Jones and Sofia Vergara were up bright and early in Los Angeles to announce the nominations for The 69th Annual Awards event.

Ryan Gosling scored big, with nominations for Best Actor in both comedy and drama (Crazy, Stupid, Love. and The Ides of March). The French silent film The Artist is leading the pack with six nods. The low-budget flick has beaten a number of Hollywood blockbusters to secure the most nominations, ranging from the best acting accolades to Best Comedy or Best Musical.

The Desecendants, starring George Clooney and 1960′s civil rights drama The Help are tied in second place with five 2012 Golden Globe nominations, as both films will do battle for the coveted Best Drama awards.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo star Rooney Mara scored a Best Actress, Drama nomination, as did Meryl Streep for The Iron Lady and Viola Davis for The Help. The 2012 Golden Globes are set to take place on 15th January and will once again be hosted by the UK’s very own Ricky Gervais.
